Tell us a little about yourself?
Iím from a small town situated in the highlands of Vietnam. I have been involved in development projects for 3 years, which has greatly influenced my interest in development studies.
Why did you decide to study at Leeds?
I wanted to come to the University of Leeds because of its strong reputation in politics and development studies; it is amongst the best schools of its kind in the UK.
How did you find out about scholarship funding at the University?
I found out about this scholarships some 2 years ago from a friend, and the talk with a representative of the University of Leeds at an education fair provided further information.
What do you like about Leeds?
It has a student-friendly environment based in a great Northern city and the university has a fantastic mix of students with multicultural backgrounds and experiences.
How do you find postgraduate study?
What Iíve benefited from and remember most are the discussions on development issues that are guided and inspired by experienced lecturers and contributed by amazing classmates, most of whom have put their hands on development projects in different areas of the world Ė a thing I believe any student in development studies would appreciate. I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy those precious learning moments and interesting life experiences without the scholarship co-sponsored by the University of Leeds, BP and FCO Chevening
What are your future plans?
Apart from the fact that I have enjoyed every moment of the course, Iíve found myself growing personally and professionally after each stage of my study. I expect to make full use of what I have learnt when returning to my work at the Foreign Affairs Office in Hochiminh city.
